Former students return to the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena and gain insights into current research.

The alumni reunion took place on November 4, 2023, at the Department of Medical Engineering/Biotechnology at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena. In a convivial atmosphere, the event offered a valuable opportunity to cultivate contacts, exchange experiences, and learn about the latest developments in the department.

A special highlight of the program were the presentations by working group members Christian Krüger, Calvin Kreft, Alexander Gümbel, and Konstantin Gramatte. They presented their current research projects and demonstrated how results from their master’s theses have seamlessly been incorporated into academic work. The alumni gained exciting insights into the dynamic development of research and were also able to discuss innovations in teaching.

In addition to lectures and discussions, campus tours of the laboratories provided an exclusive look behind the scenes. The evening was rounded off with specially brewed beer and barbecued food, enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere.

The alumni meeting once again proved to be a lively platform to promote exchange between the university and former students and to strengthen the close ties to the department.
